Emergency Winter Relief

Protecting the Vulnerable from the Cold

In the mountainous and rural regions of Pakistan, winter is not just a season—it is a struggle for survival. For families living in makeshift shelters, tents, or damaged homes, a drop in temperature can be life-threatening. Without adequate warmth, children and the elderly are at extreme risk of pneumonia, hypothermia, and other cold-weather illnesses.

At Haidury Education & Welfare Trust, our Emergency Winter Relief programme provides the warmth needed to endure the harshest months. We issue grants to provide high-quality blankets, warm clothing, and heating supplies to those who cannot afford to protect themselves from the freezing cold.

“A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim… whoever relieves a Muslim of a burden from the burdens of the world, Allah will relieve him of a burden from the burdens of the Day of Judgment.”

Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2580

Why These Grants Matter

Prevents Seasonal Mortality

In high-altitude and rural areas, sub-zero temperatures lead to fatal cases of hypothermia and pneumonia, especially among infants and the elderly.

Reduces Healthcare Burdens

By providing warmth, we prevent the onset of chronic winter illnesses, ensuring that families don't have to choose between buying food or expensive medicine.

Ensures Child Wellbeing

Warm children sleep better and remain healthy enough to continue their education throughout the winter months.

A Symbol of Mercy

In Islam, providing a "garment" or "covering" for a brother or sister in need is a deed that promises a beautiful covering for the donor on the Day of Judgment.
