The Gift of Life
Clean water is the foundation of health, education, and prosperity. Yet, for thousands of families in the regions we serve, access to safe drinking water is a daily struggle. Many are forced to rely on stagnant ponds or contaminated streams, leading to widespread waterborne diseases that claim lives—especially among children and the elderly. When a village lacks a nearby water source, children miss school and women lose hours of their day simply trekking to fetch heavy buckets of water.
At Haidury Education & Welfare Trust, our Water Wells & Pumps programme is dedicated to providing sustainable, clean water solutions. We issue grants to install manual hand pumps, deep water wells, and electric submersible pumps. By bringing water directly to the community, we prevent illness, empower women, and ensure that every child can grow up healthy and strong.
“The best form of charity is giving water to drink.”
Sunan ibn Majah, Hadith 3684
Our Grant-Making Process Includes
Community Hand Pump Installation: Funding the installation of shallow-to-medium depth hand pumps in areas where the water table is accessible, providing an immediate source of clean water for several households.
Deep Water Well Construction: Providing grants for the drilling and construction of deep-bore wells in regions where water is scarce or located deep underground.
Submersible Motor Pumps: Funding the installation of electric or solar-powered submersible pumps that can draw water from significant depths and provide a high-volume supply for larger neighborhoods or schools.
Maintenance & Repair Grants: Ensuring that existing water sources remain functional by funding the repair of broken pumps and the cleaning of older wells.
Water Quality Testing: Funding regular testing of every new water source to ensure it is free from arsenic, bacteria, and other harmful contaminants.

Why These Grants Matter
Eradicates Waterborne Disease
Access to clean water drastically reduces cases of cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea, which are leading causes of child mortality.
Empowers Women and Girls
By placing pumps within the village, we free women and girls from the grueling task of carrying water over long distances, allowing them to pursue education and work.
High-Volume Efficiency
Submersible pumps allow for faster water collection and can serve a much larger number of people simultaneously compared to manual pumps.
Sadaqah Jariyah
Providing water is one of the most beloved acts in Islam. As long as people, animals, and plants benefit from your well, you receive an ongoing reward.
