Livelihood & Income Generation

Empowering Self-Sufficiency

Charity provides relief for today, but a sustainable livelihood provides security for a lifetime. In many impoverished communities, hardworking individuals possess the skills to earn a living but lack the small amount of capital required to start. Without a sewing machine, a set of tools, or initial stock for a small shop, they remain trapped in a cycle of poverty and day-laboring that barely covers the cost of bread.

At Haidury Education & Welfare Trust, our Livelihood & Income Generation programme is designed to turn “beneficiaries into providers.” We provide targeted empowerment grants that equip individuals with the physical assets and training they need to launch their own small businesses. By investing in a person’s ability to work, we restore their dignity and secure the future of their entire family.

“It is better for one of you to take a rope and bring a load of firewood on his back and sell it… than to ask from people.”

Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 1471
